Rev Your Engines: Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport Preps for Takeoff

Calling all petrolheads! Volkswagen has revved up the excitement with the reveal of the new Virtus GT Plus Sport. This concept, soon to be a reality, injects a dose of sporty flair into the already stylish Virtus sedan.

Blacked-Out Attitude

The first thing that grabs your attention is the aggressive blacked-out treatment. Gone are the chrome accents, replaced with a stealthy darkness that encompasses the grille, logos, and even the alloy wheels. This dark look is contrasted by red highlights, adding a touch of pizzazz.

Performance with Panache

While the official specs haven’t been revealed, we can expect the Virtus GT Plus Sport to inherit the powerful 1.5-liter TSI EVO engine from its sibling, the GT Plus. This engine dishes out 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in a thrilling 9.27 seconds (automatic transmission).

The rumor mill also suggests that the GT Line treatment might extend to the smaller 1.0-liter TSI engine, giving budget-conscious buyers a chance to experience the sporty vibes. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and the ever-impressive 7-speed DSG automatic for that seamless gear shift.

Expected Launch and Rivals

Scheduled for production in the latter half of 2024, the Virtus GT Plus Sport will take on established players like the Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI Style and the Hyundai Verna SX Opt Turbo. While the official pricing is yet to be announced, expect it to be a premium over the standard Virtus GT Plus.

A Word on Caution

It’s important to remember that this is still a concept car. While the core elements are likely to be retained, there could be some minor tweaks before it hits the showroom floor.

Stay Tuned!

The Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport promises to be a thrilling addition to the Indian sedan market. Its sporty aesthetics, punchy performance, and Volkswagen’s pedigree make it a car to watch out for. So, stay tuned for further updates as we inch closer to the launch date!
